Ever since she graced the nations screens with her breathtakingly beautiful performance on Jools Holland, it's safe to say I knew Lianne La Havas was going to be one to keep on the radar.
Humbled to be given the opportunity to experience a live show, La Havas looked humble opening the set accompanied by just a guitar and that voice. That superb, smoky voice, an instrument in itself. Sparkling under the spotlight, looking the part with her statement lopsided bun, the 22 year old hailing from South London quietly begun and within minutes had cast the crowd under her spell- captivated, listening intently to undoubtedly the future of jazzy folk.

However, as I became increasingly involved in music, Lianne's work was never far away. With her debut album being released just last week, the world seems to have gone a little La Havas crazy. Don't get me wrong, I couldn't be happier for the lovely lass.
Infact, I was so moved by the performance, it wasn't just her music that I became interested in. The whole aura surrounding the young artist fascinated me. I wanted to hear more, read more and see more. The work of regular support and friend Marques Toliver soon caught my eye, with his enormity of talent. It's hard to believe that just a few years ago, former Brooklyn soul busker was sleeping on sofas and gracing the streets of New York, determined to make something of a music career.
Now sharing the stage on many ocassions with Lianne La Havas and championed by the likes of Adele, I see a bright future ahead. Infact, Adele has referred to him as her new favourite artist, declaring she's obsessed already and to tell you the truth, I couldn't agree more.
Obviously, when La Havas and Toliver share a stage it's a magical moment. Toliver's classical roots, trusty violin and rich, soulful vocals mixed with La Havas' icy guitar solos, exceptional range of vocal ability and dreamy gospel vibes. Sublime is one of many words that spring to mind.
Following the two artists via. social networks, I stumbled across Love is The Law. An exceptionally unique display of art, literature & life.
With senior editor none other than Marques Toliver himself, I quickly ordered edition 2, with special guest curator, the wonderful Lianne La Havas. I felt like a big kid at Christmas, waiting for a package of sheer beauty.
Bursting with full page prints of artwork, poetry and a large part of the issue being devoted to Lianne's tour, the stunning images make for a real treat. Especially the beautiful cover shoot, shot by Josh Shinner and styled by Susie O'Brien.
As Tom Minor asks, undoubtedly the question on everybody's lips right now, Is YOUR Love Big Enough? If you haven't guessed already, mine most certainly is...
Lianne is gracing the festival circuit this Summer and you can catch her at both Camp Bestival & Bestival, Edinburgh Festival Fringe & The Underage Festival. If that's not enough, La Havas embarks on her solo tour in October visiting many cities around the UK. Not forgetting Marques Toliver, who will be at The Secret Garden Party this week.
If you haven't done so already, support the wonderful works of Love Is The Law Magazine.
