This lovely lady needs no introduction.
However, as always, I aim to provide you with lots of lovely information
so here goes...
Today, Lianne announced a two part film for
upcoming singles, 'Elusive' & 'Gone'. Filmed in Paris by the ever cool guys
at La Blogotheque, both short films showcase stunning emotive storytelling,
with a true cinematic quality.
In contrast to the candid young girl
falling in love in 'Elusive', 'Gone' portrays a heartbroken femme fatale. Aged
just 22, the Brit beauty has had quite the year. Born to a Greek father and
Jamaican mother, La Havas cites her parents' diverse musical tastes as having
the biggest influence on her music.
Having provided backing vocals for the
likes of Paloma Faith and Everything Everything, Lianne was spotted following
the release of her own material by Black Cab Sessions and none other than La
Blogotheque.
Captivating audiences near and far, La
Havas’ live sets are something of a must. Displaying beauty, confidence and
talents way beyond her years. Simply sublime.
In the past year, Lianne has released her
debut album, ‘Is Your Love Big Enough’ which went onto be named iTunes Album of
The Year, graced many stages with her soulful, jazzy vibes and exceptional
vocal ability and been nominated for a Mercury, MOBO and Q Award. She’s
played NYC Bowery Ballroom and had her US TV debut and whatsmore, she can now
count Stevie Wonder, Prince, Erykah Badu, Bon Iver and Jill Scott as fans.
Phew.
Anyway, back to the videos, Director Colin
Solal Cardo (La Blogotheque) said of their partnership:
I've been collaborating with Lianne for
more than a year now, but working on this project felt like something
completely new. Lianne's a brilliant storyteller, there's a true cinematic
quality to her songs. When you listen to them, you go through all these
emotions and narratives, like a collection of short movies. We felt like it was
finally time to build a world around these songs, give life to these love
stories and let Lianne actually become these characters.
So what are you waiting for, watch them. If
it’s the one thing you do today.
