Introducing: The Hics

My earworm this week comes in the form of new kids on the block, The Hics.

Hailing from South London, the six piece (complete with a saxophonist - of course), all barely into their twenties and have sought management in the form of ATC (Radiohead, Laura Mvula, Nick Cave).

Entirely self produced, this taster showcases a very mature sound, displaying talents way beyond their tender years. Placing themselves somewhere between James Blake and The XX, with vocal similarities rife to the likes of Jessie Ware, they're set to be a name you'll be hearing a lot of in upcoming months. Having already caused quite some stir, the band announce plans for upcoming release 'Cold Air' which follows their prestigious runners up title in Giles Peterson's Worldwide Awards last year, quite remarkable given they'd yet to release a single.

As if that wasn't enough, the band will play their first London show of the year at Hoxton Bar & Kitchen on March 20 - you'd be a fool to miss out!

So sit back, relax and enjoy the synth textured tones of The Hics - Cold Air.
