Day 69 of 365
Tuesday 8/11/11
Why hello there.
So right now, apologies - I am not going to lie, I am on a coach resembling a seemingly hungover student. Not an ideal situation. Well, who thought drinking on a ferry would end well? If you did, you're wrong. A lot happened last night but for my sanity I feel I should keep some things a little secret. Put it this way, I woke up feeling very embarrassed and a fairly awkward situation emerged for the long journey until we reach our hostel, some may call it a little bit of 'Ferry fun'. Okay I figure now it seems I did much worse, it was merely a kiss but with a fellow student in a small group, things got a little fifth grade, sitting in a tree, k-i-s-s-i-n-g etc...
Anyway, yes - we caused a little commotion on board the ferry, not me alone, tutors included, it was a good night, although walking back to the cabin - a tiny cramped bunk bed room is not ideal whilst swaying in the middle of a deep dark ocean. You can certainly feel it once your head hits that pillow, I can tell you that for free.
So like I said, back to now. I am surrounded by 40 like minded students wanting for one thing, sleep. In fact, I just heard a shout from the back, 'who else feels ill' to which a few grunts were the only response.
Next stop Cologne before heading to Stuttgart and our Hostel.
Hope it's nice...

Apologies for the quality, I left my camera in my suitcase in the hold of the coach, bad times.
Good job I had the trusty iPod nearby.
Here's a little insight into Cologne...
PS. Cologne Cathedral is incredible. The construction of the entire cathedral was completed during the nineteenth century. Well you learn something new everyday hey!
After an incredibly long and tedious coach journey we arrived, in the dark, much later than expected to our hostel. Having not eaten dinner we searched for the closest restaurant after dropping our bags in the room. Infact, possibly one of the best decisions we made all week. We came across a brilliant restaurant called Africa! The place is unique, very busy and unusual. We were intrigued to say the least. There was sand covering the floor and menus were on a slab of wood, hats hung from the ceiling and there were some tables on the floor with floor cushions. One slight problem, the menu had no English translations, I went for a lucky dip and tried my best at a German translation. Good choice, thoroughly enjoyed it and not too over priced. All in all, Africa was the place to be plus, when we got back and everyone asked where we had been, we took pride in saying we took a few steps and ended up in Africa!
