Day 74 of 365
Sunday 13/11/11
Good morning! Another bright and early start.
This time we're in England, I would say lovely England but hey, I looked out of the little cabin window and what do you know... it's raining, of course.
Welcome home.
So anyway, it took ages to disembark the ferry but we made it eventually, after a lot of queuing and dragging our cases through security and passport control, we were finally on our way home. A short coach journey, sigh, another one and we would be home sweet home.
Well that's what I thought, home sweet home I mean. That was 'til we got home, to a freezing flat. Both of my housemates came to Germany leaving the house unloved for a week. No heating, I ran the bath, longing to relax in a steaming hot bubble bath.
Now I must at this point add, I am slightly obsessed with baths, especially at this time of year. It's my chance to rewind, chill and relax, the calm before the storm, I can always rely on a bath.
That was until this fateful day. Yes, we had no hot water.
Result. I wanted to cry. What did we do I hear you ask? Try boiling 4 pans on the hob, kettle boiling and heating a bowl of water in the microwave, yes stranger things have happened but it gave us something to laugh about! Really, it was never going to work and believe it or not it was not in fact my idea to start with however, half way through my housemate was left feeling a sense of defeat. She gave up.
I simply couldn't, I mean, what better did I have to do with my day... sigh.
Anyway, I am sure you will be pleased to know that, yes after an hour or so, maybe more now I come to think of it... I got there in the end, I had a bath, a luke warm one at best, by the time I had got in there.
Tonight, it seems all this running to and from the bathroom has worn us out. We opted for a Chinese takeaway and lazed in front of the tele, making the most of our last day of chill. Tomorrow is Monday and back to reality, no one will remember we have been to Germany, it will have become a distant memory in the space of an hour or so, I will, no doubt be snowed under with work.
Hope you've all had a lovely weekend
Peace
