Day 70 of 365

Wednesday 9/11/11

So today is our first proper day here in Stuttgart. It's pretty chilly but unlike England there is no rain, hooray. Today we were off to ICD University of Stuttgart, Institute of Computational Design. 

It was a little strange, we walked into this foreign building, students surrounded us, not much differed from being back home, back in our studio. There were models everywhere, boards of work pinned up and then we were led into a lecture room. 

A two hour lecture. I thought I would be really bored but no. It was so interesting, as geeky as it may seem - learning about the different ways in which this university studies architecture gave me a greater insight into some really cool things, and yes, I made loads of notes!!

Does anyone else notice the Dutch, whenever they speak English, it's with an American accent. I am not sure if this is 'cos they watch so much American tele but I love hearing it, it's sexy! On a guy I mean! One lecturer there was pretty cute too!!!

We grabbed some lunch in Stuttgart, what a lovely city! Given we didn't have as much time there as hoped, just enough time to take a seat and eat our lunch. Tonight we decided to go out as a group, there are about 40 of us here, including 3 tutors. We all planned to meet at this pub, not sure where it was we followed the lead of a few people who'd been there last night. We stopped en-route to grab some dinner, we found a really nice Italian, such a funny waiter. We also met a guy from Colorado and invited him out with us, it was nice getting to know him over dinner, before we all got a bit of dutch courage down us. 

Oh it was sooo fun, an Irish bar in Stuttgart and who'd have thought it, it was kareoke night.

To top it off, there was a guy behind the bar who lived about a second away from me back home, crazy, it's such a small world.

So much happened today, it was a busy day! It ended funny too, we walked home through a park with a lake, one of the boys got a horrid kebab and fed the ducks at 4am, whilst a girl took a pee in a kiddies play area. Urgh. I must admit I was a sober onlooker at this point!

Stuttgart delivered. What a fun night!
