Day 61 of 365

Ah so today is Monday.
There's always that dread of waking up on a Monday morning, especially now I have Uni on Monday mornings.
Not today however.
Well, less so.

So after a day in Uni, procrastinating on a whole new level, anything to avoid work, we were off to Manchester again.
This time however, not for work!
For KATY PERRY.
Oh yeah, Happy Halloween you lovely lot.

We got the train over and grabbed some food before taking our seats. The show started at 7.30 but I knew the main act wouldn't be on for a while yet.
As soon as we walked in I gaped in awe. It's been a while since I went to a real big concert and it's been a good few years since I went to this particular venue, I love it.

Not only that but the fact that candy is pumped through the air con system. There were also people selling candy floss and ice cream, obviously couldn't go a miss.
So, what in the name do we do for 2 hours i hear you ask.
Fear not, with someone like Katy Perry, expect nothing but great things.
First up, a Danish support act.

Oh Land. I didn't recognise the name at first but found the young woman on stage particularly captivating. It all changed when she began playing the tune to a song I knew. Myself and my housemate turned to one another and started singing and dancing, I think we were the only people, out of 15,000 who had a clue what the song was! Anyway, following this the greatest DJ took to the stage and got the crowd warmed up. His energy was spectacular and he even came on dressed in a Halloween mask! I must add it was taken straight off, but really, who could blame him - he must have been slightly hot!

Next thing, the lights go down and everyone starts screaming so loud.
I cannot even begin to explain the thoughts, creativity and astonishing attention to detail. Katy Perry's set was like something from a film, so much so, she had a film playing in the background of a little made up dream, which formed the basis of the night to which led into each and every song.

After a mind blowing 2 hour set I looked at my watch and panic came over me. Our train left in fifteen minutes, Katy was still in full swing.
Decision time.
Thankfully, the station is located right in the arena so after a frantic run in high heels we made it with a few minutes to spare to our train and without missing any of the show. At the station, there were so many people and just as we got close to the opening doors another surge of people emerged, all pushing to get on.

Unfortunately for the remaining 1hr30 I stood in the aisle, my housemates sat on the floor along with several other people, lining the aisles of an overcrowded train.

By the time we got home it was the early hours of the morning and I was shattered however, what a halloween - or in the words of Perry herself, 'Whore-O-Ween'.

On that note, I shall be off.
I will upload some pics tomorrow for you all.
Good night

I hope you had a good trick or treat!
x
