Day 218 of 365
Friday 6th April
Something kinda fun happened today.
Well, a lot actually.
We have had a great day, the sun has been shining, the weather sweet.
However, one funny thing happened that stands out and I thought I would share with you...
Now, I am not one to wish my life away. I 'aint one of these girls who has her wedding planned. I for one, do not have a dress in mind, haven't selected my bridesmaids and definitely haven't found a man to be my future husband.
I am a single pringle.
However it has been known, on some occasions that I find myself wondering/worrying whether I will stay a single spinster for the entirety of my lonely life. Of course this is slightly melodramatic. I am not lonely. Not in the slightest. However nice it would be to have a boyfriend, at present I am quite happy. It's just sometimes, my life flashes before me, I wonder will I have children/get married/have a good job/where will I live? It's weird isn't it. Where will you be in ten years?
All these scary questions I face as I come to the end of my student life. I am about to be tossed, thrown and dunked in the deep end. Life.
When I was younger, I always thought 26 was the age I wanted to be married and by that time I'd like to have at least one child, or at least have one on its way. Now, five years away I am beginning to wonder when it will all fall into place. Now, 26 seems too soon. It's slightly too close.
I believe life will lead its own path. To force nothing. It never works out.
Of course, I've been in love. It's got me where I am today. Made me a stronger person, these are just the small hurdles that will hopefully lead me onto a winning track.
So, the aim of this is leading to something.
Something that flippantly I said whilst listening to my friend playing guitar. As I closed my eyes. I relaxed and listened to the soothing strumming of strings. So peaceful. Then the words came out.
'My husband had better be good at guitar, infact they need to. That's a criteria'.
With that, my mother, with a spritely spring in her walk asked me to reach for my diary.
The following happened. A criteria. All a big joke, of course. Laughable, fun, interesting.
Do people actually do this? I heard of one girl on TV last week, she took a list everywhere she went, when guys hit on her the list flickered through her mind, if they did not match, she quickly moved away.
This to me, is bizarre.
However, i am willing to share. Maybe you'll learn something new about me.
Here goes... PS. If my future husband ever happens to read this, if you do not match 5 or more of these, you're in for a grilling. Take note :)
1. 5' 9" plus (height)
2. Ability to serenade me with a guitar/vocal ability
3. Good earner/motivated/ambitious
4. Good set of nashers/nice smile
5. Nice
6. Calm
7. Sense of humour
8. Kind
9. Generous
10. Willing to wine & dine - date nights
11. Adventurous - sleeping under the stars
12. Independent (in moderation- we all need a shoulder to lean on)
13. Athletic
14. Ability to grow stubble/facial hair (however little it may be- note no 'bum fluff')
15. Ability to ski (optional - I am willing to share my skills)
16. Six pack, if at all possible, at one point of us dating
17. Fashion savvy
18. No hairy backs/slight hair on chest - if at all possible. No gorillas.
19. No red hair - (being a ginge myself I see this as social suicide)
20. Trustworthy
So after all that, it's pretty funny huh?
Try it. Maybe I'll hide it away and laugh with my husband when I get it out in years to come.
That's if I am not sat alone surrounded by cats, every woman's worst nightmare huh?!
Anyway, hoping you're all having a great Good Friday and enjoying the day off, 4 day weekend if you're lucky enough to have it?
That'll be all.
PS. I am a sucker for the following in a male.
Do you have any must haves/weaknesses/criteria for the opposite sex, I'd love to hear!
