Day 220 of 365

Sunday 8th April

Happy Easter.
Although, to me it feels like Sunday. Well, actually that's a lie.
I told someone it was Saturday today. I convinced myself it was Easter Sunday tomorrow.

Today, I woke up to about 20 Easter Eggs under my desk.
I went into the living room. Waited for my family to rise. Cup of tea. Started some work then my Mum said, 'Happy Easter, go and help yourself to some chocolate eggs. They're in your room'.
Now, every other year and I jump to the occasion.
However, for some reason I 'aint feeling Easter this year. Maybe because they eggs have not been hidden in the garden (we never grow old).
Actually, admittedly so... I ate a lot of chocolate on holiday but I'm not one to sit and eat chocolate from a bar.

I prefer it in things. For example, in Cornwall, we had the most divine array of home bakery. Chocolate brownies (to die for). Infact, I stole the recipe from my friend and will be attempting to make them this week so if they turn out okay I may be willing to share with you.
Also, we had chocolate millionaire shortbread. Literally, my favourite sweet thing.
Although I have a special name for them.
Squares of joy.
You know, in supermarkets when you may get them cut into little cubes, in a box. Well, obviously, what better way to pay reference. After all, each square brings joy.

A friend of mine said this in passing one day when I went to buy us some sweet treats. I thought it was so cool I made him repeat it over and over. Since then, I seem to have passed on the trait of telling everyone about them and of course referring to them in such a way. So much so, my housemates boyfriend said the other day, 'Do you mind if I have a square of joy'.

Golly. Did I really just blog about that.
You can tell I'm tired.
Rightly so. I am not used to this working malarky. It feels too long, I feel like I've started out at a new job. I felt oh so nervous when I went in for my shift last night. That didn't last long. As soon as I got in there, I saw how gorgeous the bride looked. It also helped that I knew a lot of people there. Not so good when they're intoxicated and attempting to drag you onto the dance floor.

I spent the night mostly laughing, at drunk peoples misfortune/dancing moves. God do I really look like that on the dance floor. I bloody hope not but I so know it's true.
Also, the bride was having a whale of time. So much so, she went tumbling backwards into the lighting rig. There were many a pile on, raucous rugby boys I expect, chanting the night away, trying to get me to join in, attempting to lift me. No I am not fat, I just refused to be moved.

Infact, if my boss saw me dancing on their shoulders I imagine he'd be less than impressed. I may joke but it's happened once before, sorry twice before. Some ushers and groomsmen like nothing better than to get the girl stood in the corner up on their shoulders.
Sigh.
I love it really.

Anyway, I got in at about 2.30am this morning. Since then, today I have been working. It was a Hindu wedding today. 190 guests, crammed like sardines. Here, there and everywhere. Coming, going. I can't keep up. Anyway, I managed to escape about half an hour after my leave time but never the less, I am now tucked up in bed at 10pm. Now that's early for me. Real early.

On that note, I am beyond shattered and must sign off.
Happy Easter. I hope it's a good one.

Much love & best wishes
x
