Day 20 of 365
Good evening, I’m back on track and blogging before midnight, all is good.
So this morning I woke up rather confused, this black out blind will be the death of me I’m sure, I definitely thought I’d only just fallen asleep but it was half nine. I came home relatively early as well. Strange.
Has to be done, fresher’s week – first night out and there is not much a student does bar wake up, rather motionless and sloth like. This is then followed by a quick check of the contents of your bag to make sure you brought everything home and of course the dreaded but vital check of how much money you actually spent. I was pleasantly surprised when I woke up this morning, not only had I brought everything home; I’d also only spent a mere ten squids. Great.
Anyway, I then reached for my phone – that moment of truth, who did I text, what did I say, did I ring anyone I shouldn’t. Well, there I was faced with some funny findings. Apparently I called my Aunty several times as she shares the same name as my housemate. Luckily I aborted all calls however, I’m hoping it was before it rang. If you’re reading this, I apologise. No names needed!
It also seems I text a boy I met last year asking him to come meet me, only I told him I was in a completely different place to where I was. Hoping he didn’t’ leave his friends to come find me. Again, for that I apologise!
Finally, I text my housemate with the following – ‘EhRt t u? Jhgflkjytuyhtred’
Now I realize I am painting a rather explicit picture of myself here but I promise it’s been a while, after all it’s been four months away from the student life and a girls gotta let her hair down once in a while hey.
Oh yeah, one last thing. Before we even left the house to go out last night I made a fateful mistake. I misjudged my front door step, it seems there are two, not one - I went flying, twisted my ankle and fell into a rose bush in my gorgeous new dress. I couldn’t be cool if I tried. My housemate screamed louder than I’ve ever heard and I think the neighbours questioned our existence. A sort of where did we come from? Why are we here? Where are we going?
On that note, remember me talking about Elsie a while back? Well, I have become pretty obsessed with her song Time To Go. Especially today as I feel the lyrics are particularly relevant. Bare with me as I am typing them as listening so they could be completely wrong for all I know.
I'm that girl tryna be good, Ive had more drinks than I know I should, my body wants to feel the groove and so ill dance with you, ill dance with you. Rough your shapes flirty flirty, hands on you we're dancing dirty, get kicks out behaving badly oh it’s a taxi for two, a taxi for two.
But you and me felt good not sober things change once the best bits over, time to go we’ve had our fun I wanna be alone, call a taxi you can use my phone ...
Alarm goes off, its 6 oclock babe ive only got 3 hours of sleep babe I shouldn’t go out on a work day cos it gets messy and late, messy and late
It is all about girl power. Today I’m obsessed with Lana Del Rey – Video Games, Laura Marling – Sophia and Sunday Girl. As I mentioned yesterday, it was her first radio play of fourth single, Love U More. In contrast to Human Love, which was expected to be her next single, in ‘Love U More’ we experience a slightly euphoric nature. I really like it. Unfortunately I couldn’t find it online to post here but you can listen again to Gem Cairney’s show from today and hear the lovely Jade and her new cover of Sunscreen’s classic hit.
I did however, stumble across a secret sessions with Jade and it’s simply beautiful. I also love the fact she swares and speaks at the wrong time, as well as confessing her bottom jaw is full of baby teeth, let’s hope they don’t all get wobbly and fall out anytime soon!
Whilst I’m on the subject, no not anything teeth related- fashion and music, I must share something with you. Tonight I got a chance to be on the front row at London Fashion Week. I bet you were jealous for a second. Unfortunately, it was without leaving the comfort of my own home. Tonight, heatworld streamed the Fearne Cotton Very.co.uk show as Fearne showcased her Spring Summer 2012 collection.
If you love fashion or like me, love Fearne Cotton it’s a good watch. There are some really cute pieces in there and the soundtrack is simply brilliant. Totally Fearne with music from Edward Sharpe, Friendly Fires and Bedouin Soundclash.
So, this blog post is rather long hey? I guess I should call it quits and stop boring you all with my random babble. I promise tomorrow I will add some photos to the past couple of blog posts, my Instagram is being silly at present.
