Day 9 of 365

Well, well, well what an exciting day today has turned out to be. Firstly I had work which is never a good thing however I do enjoy the job especially my job - seeing people have such a great time on their special day usually gives me a grin from ear to ear, even better if they're nice of course, most of them are!

So today I had a pretty stressful time to begin with, everyone seemed to be a bit on edge whilst setting up, everything seemed a little like not so organised chaos. Ah well, we managed it, ceremony went well I think and the cake was nearly/almost/not quite better than yesterdays. I wonder what tomorrow's will be like. Caribbean themed?

I tried to sneak a photo before the cake was taken away, there were 100 little cupcakes and were to be given to each guest for the wedding breakfast desert. They had a second cake, a polystyrene filling - to cut/pose for photos!

Here goes, apology for quality, was a rush on my iPhone.

Cute hey?

Something exciting happened after work though, I received an email ....

Hi Hannah,

CONGRATULATIONS!

You are the winner of the SoBe A Winner summer photo competition, receiving a fab 10 votes for the image you uploaded!

So all that’s left for you to do now is reply to this email by 5pm on Monday 12th September stating the best daytime postal address and contact number for you, and your Diana Mini & Flash Petite Noire camera will be on its way to your door!

Congratulations once again, I look forward to hearing from you.

Yayyy.*Fist thumps the air*

So that's pretty cool and then, I came home and Dad said he had a little present for me. Another camera, today must be my lucky day!

So far I have spent tonight polishing my camera(s). I now have 5.
1) My first digital SLR camera - Sony Alpha a200
2) My trusty Polaroid
3) Diana (yet to use as I need to purchase a film)
4) Voigtlander Vito C - 1960's German camera handed down from my Great Grandfather
5) Canon AE-1 handed down from my Dad - today!
6) I am awaiting my mini Diana from SoBe competition.

This is pretty crazy, I totally never realised I had that many cameras. Before this summer I had only 2. It's a collection I hope will grow with time. I cherish every memory taken on these wonderful little things.

I haven't stopped all day until tonight. Tonight, my parents went out. I turned the lights down, put on my favourite album and danced like no one was watching. At least I hope they weren't! Don't you just love days like that! Singing into the hairbrush, holding it like a mic whilst you ruffle your hair in the mirror - as I say this I sip a glass of wine. I need it to calm the nerves for the big day ahead.

Tomorrow will be hard. 17 hours of working. 17 hours of being in control of 200 guests and a Lake, I must add. There tends to be a point in the night when drunken men wander outside of the Marquee and decide that Lake looks like the perfect swimming opportunity, fully clothed, in their dinner suits. Perfect. Not so perfect for me.

Anyway, tomorrow, as I said in an earlier post I may not be able to tweet, I don't get an internet connection down at the Marquee so I will say goodbye and wish you all a happy weekend. Update you as to whether I still have my job on Sunday!

x
