Day 11 of 365

Hello there, it's Sunday 11th September. That can only mean one thing, It's been a decade since the catastrophic events of 9/11. On this solemn day we Remember, Honor & Reunite.

I had to mention that before I start my blogging for today as It's something that undoubtedly touched everybody's hearts and will do for many years to come.

Right, today is a new day and I wanted to do a little bit of a wedding-esque blog. If I may...
So, I've been trawling the internet and have found some wonderful little things I just have to share with you! Firstly, a lot of people have their special day videoed. I love this and would definitely recommend. There is so much going on, so many people to see it's impossible to see everything going on in that room where so many of your friends and family, special people are there, all for you.

Whenever I ask the B&G if they've enjoyed their day they nearly always respond "we wish it didn't have to end". Get yourself a good videographer and you're on to a winner.

The other day I opened an email from a B&G whose wedding I worked on the other week, it was their "theatrical trailer" for the wedding video. After watching the six minute clip I wanted more, more and more so I started searching our venue on vimeo. I also came across an amazing video. I just have to share it with you. I guess you tell that these guys are into their farming/festivals as it's very Glastonbury themed.

Here goes... Unfortunately I can't upload straight from Vimeo so here's the link.

How cool is that hey! I especially love the way the bride skips down the aisle hand in hand with her Dad. Lovely, just lovely.

So I guess the next topic on my list is the all important subject of wedding attire. Dresses.
I have seen a hundred and one wedding dresses and each one differs in some way, whether it be a long train or a simple sculpted dress there's certainly a dress for every taste. I remember not so long ago, the groom was someone many of you will know, he's on tele - the bride is a model. I sorta stereotypically imagined an over the top dress, with the paps there I thought it was going to be a dress I could hide in. How wrong I was. It was the most beautiful dress, elegant, sophisticated and sassy. It was even more special when the bride beamed as she told me she had designed it herself.

However, as much as I loved that dress, there is one that will stick out above the rest all day long. When I grow up and get married I want a dress just like it. I couldn't take my eyes of the dress from the moment I saw it. It helped of course that the B&G were the nicest couple I've ever had the pleasure to work with. I loved the wedding like I was a guest, I danced hand in hand with the B&G, I stole their sweets, I, and everybody else could really see this couple had something good going on, the love they shared, the happiness. It was perfect if I may say so.

I managed to find out the dress was from a company in Aus called Pallas Couture. The bride was an English rose but the hubby was an Aussie. They both lived in Melbourne and this was portrayed throughout their day with an English hello and Australian Goodbye being two of the main feats. of the day. Their sweetie table was something else. They even had boomerangs displaying the table numbers. To see a couple so happy makes me again, love my job.

Enough of the above, I must show you the dress.

I stumbled across a wonderful blog called Pinterest. I give you permission to go check their stuff out! Just make it after you've read this, sound good? Okay, well I was engrossed, I spent all day on their. Here are a few special things...

I would love to keep going, I have so many pictures saved. I will add more tomorrow as my battery is about to die on my Mac.

Now just because I'm showing off... here's proof that the Aussie wedding was a hit.

We live in Australia but planned to marry in England as I am from Liverpool originally. Because we had 20+ Australian guests coming over we wanted a venue that required very little preparation from me - as I was on the other side of the world - and was classical and very 'English'.
The venue speaks for itself and needed little more than a few flowers to decorate. The staff were very patient and kind (especially Hannah and the night staff....thanks).
You only get one wedding day and we are delighted we chose such a fantastic venue for ours.

Love x
