Day 8 of 365

Well hello there lovely people.
Hope everyone is okay today. Weathers a bit rubbish lately hey? Today I was working and we had to light a fire for the first time in a couple of months! Made it all wintery!
So I haven't done much today, just been at work. Feel a bit down in the dumps - think I'm coming down with something which is a bit of a no go since I have my longest shift ever this Saturday.

I've made a little list for the big day, it's an outdoor ceremony for 200 with a gospel choir and the bride's from the Caribbean. Exciting hey? Let's hope it doesn't rain or else there will be trouble. Had a sneaky peak at the menu today, they're having an English Wedding Breakfast, roasted leg of lamb then a slightly different twist... Caribbean to be exact! BBQ Jerk, Curried Duck and Southern Fried Chicken, yeaaaah!

So I took a picture for you all to have a cheeky peak at today. It was the cake, oh-em-gee.
Remember those Milky Bar Kid chocolates? White chocolate? You know the smell right, well...
this was something else. I've seen some good cakes in my time but this was just a little bit special.

It smelt soo good. Not quite sure how they will cut it but I guess it doesn't matter too much, unlucky for the guests I don't think they will be getting a slice at the end of the night?

Really random but I found a box of all my memories shoved under my bed the other night. I love letters. On that note, love letters are the best don't you think? Like this one...

Unfortunately I haven't received a letter in an awful long time, I miss them. Apart from my mum of course, every year when I go off to Uni it takes a couple of days and then a parcel arrives. Once she sent me my favourite sweets, Percy Pigs they call them, along with some thick socks as it was snowing and a book from my childhood. Not sure if anyone else remembers it...

Anyway, it got me thinking about how much I enjoyed reading 'One Day'. I want to read it all over again but I hate knowing the ending of a book!

"Live each day as if it's your last', that was the conventional advice, but really, who had the energy for that? What if it rained or you felt a bit glandy? It just wasn't practical. Better by far to be good and courageous and bold and to make difference. Not change the world exactly, but the bit around you. Cherish your friends, stay true to your principles, live passionately and fully and well. Experience new things. Love and be loved, if you ever get the chance."

And my favourite... "You're gorgeous, you old hag, and if i could give you just one gift ever for the rest of your life it would be this. Confidence. It would be the gift of confidence. Either that or a scented candle"

If this doesn't make you read it, I don't know what will. I love it.

Another day, another wedding - tomorrow I wonder what the cake will be like!
I will be sure to update, maybe I'll take a few pictures!

Night x
