Day 156 of 365
Friday 3/2/12
Okay okay, I am now officially done for the weekend.
Hand in completed and I am busy procrastinating.
Doing what I do best.
Infact, today has filled me with joy.
I not only handed in my work, I took myself to a record store.
This is not a great idea.
I should not be let loose.
I spent way too much money.
I did however buy three unbelievably good albums.
1. Lana Del Rey - Born To Die.
After receiving some of the harshest critics views following her performance recently on SNL I am really hoping this girl fights back stronger. I know she may be daughter of a very rich guy and that performance did make her sound like a 12 yr old practising in front of the mirror at times, but come on, that girls lips... you needn't listen to what comes out of them.
2. Caro Emerald - Deleted Scenes From The Cutting Room Floor
I saw this girl perform way back in Summer, whilst in Mallorca. Unfortunately I wasn't blessed with seeing her live, just through that little tele box but I couldn't help but read more about her, what a voice and such a quirky, unique style. Months later and she's gracing my screen again on the ever wonderful Jools Holland. I saw this and couldn't resist picking it up. Bonus, the CD is super cute and I urge you to take a listen.
3. Civil Wars - Barton Hollow. I know, I know. I must admit, I downloaded this album a few months back and have been listening non stop. However, i can't help but buy an album when I see it. Especially when it is a duo as good as these two. Not satisfied with owning the album just once, I bought it in hardcopy format just cos. Anyway, it now adds to my ever growing collection, something I can look at each morning and smile.
So I guess that leaves just one thing...
music for today...
None other than the wonderful Michael Kiwanuka. i figure since I am just about to board another train, I will soon be Home Again so here you are.
