Day 178 of 365
Sunday 26/2/12
Why hello there.
Very nearly time for yet another gig.
Going pretty wild lately aren't I.
Tomorrow night I will be seeing the oh so talented Ben Howard.
Having seen him once last year, I am back for more, it's fair to say I love him just a little!
My room is decorated with his pictures across my room from his amazing debut album Every Kingdom.
I liked it that much, I bought it in cassette format and luxury edition. I love that he signed my cassette.
Since I have a pretty retro car, it only has a cassette player. Perfect.
Some things are meant to be.
Soundtrack to summer I'd say.
Anyway, today has been a happy day as I found out my wonderful parents have managed to locate my camera charger and my equally wonderful bestest friend is going to bring it back so tonight, I will have my camera back. I can hardly contain my excitement. I have felt like I've been missing my right arm.
How is a blogger, with a love in photography supposed to survive with just a measly iPhone camera?
Although, I do like the vintage feel Instagram gives it's just not the same as the SLR.
I find it quite amazing how I have a collection of 6 cameras yet not one has film/full battery.
How has that happened?
Probabally doesn't help that I'm the sorta person who likes to keep things in their boxes.
My mini diana I won back in Summer for a photography competition is still in its box, I've ashamedly never opened it. I want to keep it in its prestine condition, that's 'til I go on holiday.
I also have a 35mm Voigtlander Vito C, probabally my favourite out of my collection. You can't beat a 1960s camera passed down from my Great Grandad, pretty special huh?
Over the Summer I took this little beaut to the harbour to get some snaps whilst the sun had his hat on.
Unfortunately I am yet to see the results. Photography takes a back seat unfortunate as it may be, whilst I am here at University. However, it makes it that little better to know that everytime I go home this is there staring at me.
The film I managed to get a few snaps out of were actually, the original film I found in there. I sure hope it still works. It will be amazing to get it developed and hopefully see pictures my Grandad once took.
So I figure I've gotten a little lot sidetracked.
However, as you know. I must end with a song.
I try to relate all the songs to either my day or the content throughout the days post.
So today, I feel the need to express my love for Ben Howard.
Not only does this guy have a voice any man would envy, any girl would swoon over, he has a smile and character to go with it. The best bit though... He's a surfer.
*swoon
However, I figure I've already featured two of his songs in this months songs for the day so...
Mr. Howard happens to have some great artists supporting him on his upcoming tour dates.
One of which is the wonderful 'Daughter'

Now, I am really hoping she plays tomorrow as I love her EP released last year, 'The Wild Youth'.
I also figure, upon reading this you may know what's coming already. A lot of the songs I have listened to and blogged about of late are of a similar genre. I hope you don't mind. I do try to mix it up a little however, there are just way too many good songs I keep stumbling across.
This being one. Especially good on a Sunday.
Landfill - Daughter
Enjoy
