Day 110 of 365
Monday 19/12/11
Good evening
I am again, you guessed it - on a train.
It has been a busy day. Shopping until we quite literally dropped. Dropped for dinner at least.
So, first stop Harvey Nichols to look at the lovely clothes and as tradition states in our family, purchase the smallest, cutest and most divine mince pies.
Next up, the wonderful world of Harrods. Also, one of my favourite places in London, of course.
I mean come on. It wouldn't be a trip to London without Harrods, home of all things, naughty and nice!!! We took a trip to the famous pet kingdom. You would not believe the sights... Fancy dress, shampoo, perfume and nail varnish... All for the dog?
Yes, crazy! A pooch parlour, mud baths £100 plus, oh the pampered pooch.
They did however have the cutest pups I have ever seen. A puggle for Christmas please Santa!
Following the exertion of the Christmas floor and pet kingdom we decided ice cream was in order, not just any ice cream however. Oh no. I will have to provide photographic evidence but
trust me, they were huge!
So much so, mum and I shared and still struggled to finish!
After shopping excessively we decided to escape the rain by taking the underground to Hyde Park to see the Winter Wonderland.
I was pretty excited yet sadly, left a little disappointed. It was a pretty awesome set up and did get me in the festive spirit however it was just a pretty standard commercialised and over priced German market with a rather lovely ice skating rink plonked in the middle. Rant over, I did enjoy seeing the place and after all, I would probably go back, with friends and have a drink. Maybe it's because I was just passing through. I can also imagine it's great for the little kiddies. Plus, there was a super cool carousel bar, I am not quite sure how that would turn out after a couple of drinks, yes the carousel was in full working order.
So after this and a pit stop for some food we headed back to the tube and here I am, now on the train back, home sweet home. Only downside, we don't arrive until midnight.
Oh well.
Night
x
