Day 111 of 365

Tuesday 20/12/11

Well what do we know, how quick has this year gone, five day countdown.

Whilst in London I love the free papers on the tube. As a result of this, I am going to make this a pretty short and sweet post. Full of interesting facts about the biggest events of the last 12 months. I figure since it's just a little under 2 weeks before the New year, here's a round up.

- 9.1 magnitude of 11 March Earthquake off the Coast of Tohoku, Japan that led to a tsunami, resulting in almost 16,000 deaths

- 24,500,000 people in Britain who watched Prince Williams wedding to Catherine Middleton 29 April

- 79 commandos on the raid which culminated in the death of Osama Bin Laden 2 May

- 168 years the News of The World has been published until it was closed by Rupert Murdoch 10 July

- 69 people killed on the island of Utoya by Norweigan right wing extremist Anders Behring Brivik on 22 July

- 13-15000 estimated number involved in riots across England, causing 500m worth of looting and damage from 6 to 10 August

- 8,868 tweets per second sent on 28 August about Beyonces baby bump - the most tweeted about subject of the year

You learn something new everyday hey!?

I am off to do the Christmas food shop with Mum, wish me luck!
Oh and it's pouring down, Oh England, I love you.
